Pea gravel!
This winter has been milder than ever before! We have lots of mud on the track and I am preparing a plan to add pea gravel this spring. We'll have to add some tile for better drainage and then scrape off the top layer and put in pea gravel. I'll have a test area first.
I have put some pea gravel around the water trough, on top of a tarp, just to see how they like it: well, they love standing on the pea gravel! It's like getting a foot massage!
So we are collecting information right now, from people who have done this in the same climate as we have in Ohio. Very interesting. We will add pictures as we progress in the project!

EPM (EQUINE PROTOZOAL MYELOENCEPHALITIS)
My mare Dyna had EPM and recovered completely.
Because of her story, I am being contacted regularly by desperate owners who just had a horse diagnosed with EPM. Don't give up just yet!

Open House September 12th 1pm-4pm!
We will be having an open house in West Milton, OH on September 12th from 1pm - 4pm.
Come and take a walk on the track, meet my horses, see barefoot trimmer Diana Youngerman at work and ask all the questions you want!
My Paddock Paradise is simple and inexpensive and my place is very modest but vibrant!
You may get some inspiration to build your own track when you see how easy it is! And get some ideas on how to do it - you may be able to give me some ideas to improve my track too!

My little Paddock Paradise mentioned in Horsemen's Corral magazine
Too cool, after the open house, my little paddock paradise was mentioned in the Horsemen's Corral magazine. It seems that the people who visited are talking and thinking about it! Who knows? Maybe more people will adopt this way of keeping horses!
